1. Who we are
HireBee is an async video interview platform operated by HireBee Inc. (“HireBee,” “we,” “us”). This policy applies to data collected through hirebee.com, our web app, and our APIs.

2. What we collect
Account data — when an employer creates an account: name, work email, company name, and (optionally) a company logo.
Candidate data — when an employer invites a candidate: the candidate's name, email, and any video answers they record for the employer's questions.
Usage data — pages visited, actions taken, and standard server logs (IP address, browser, device type). Used to keep the service reliable and secure.
Payment data — billing is handled by Stripe; we do not store credit card numbers.
3. How we use data
To provide the service: storing jobs, invites, and video responses; serving them back to the employer who owns them.
To keep the service secure: detecting abuse, preventing fraud, fixing bugs.
To communicate with you: account updates, security notices, billing receipts, and product news (you can opt out of marketing emails anytime).
We do not sell your data. We do not use candidate video responses to train AI models.
4. Who can see what
Employer data is visible only to the employer who owns the account (and the team members they invite). Row-level security on our database enforces this at the data layer.
Candidate video responses are visible to the employer who invited the candidate. Videos are served via short-lived signed URLs — never public links.
HireBee staff may access data only when strictly necessary (e.g. resolving a support ticket you opened). Access is logged.
5. Where data is stored
We use Supabase (Postgres + Storage) hosted in the United States. Backups are encrypted at rest.
If you require data residency in the EU or another region, contact us about our Enterprise plan.
6. Retention
Video responses are retained for the duration listed in your plan (7 days on Free, 90 days on Pro, 1 year+ on Enterprise). After that window, videos are permanently deleted from storage.
Account and candidate metadata is kept while your account is active and for up to 90 days after deletion, after which it is removed from our production databases.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your data (subject to legal and accounting obligations)
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time

8. Cookies & analytics
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in. We also use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand which features are used, without tracking you across other sites.
You can opt out of non-essential cookies in your account settings.
9. Children
HireBee is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we've received data from a child, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. For material changes, we'll notify account owners by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
